Highlighting Domestic Violence Awareness on Giving Tuesday

After Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday comes 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲. On this day of activism and generosity, Levitation Nation’s goal is to promote domestic violence resources for people in need of help as well as for those looking for a worthwhile organization to donate to.

Therefore, we created these videos to bring your attention to Kalispell, MT's Abbie Shelter. The Abbie Shelter is Flathead Valley’s neighborhood domestic and sexual violence service provider. Shelter is in the name, but they are much more than a shelter. Whether it's court, counseling, or support, they help women through any step of the process of getting safe.

We chose our songs for these routines carefully with the intent to uphold Emily Mohler’s desire to choreograph a routine for domestic violence awareness, which she expressed to us before her death. Emily was Levitation Nation’s photographer who was tragically murdered (along with her 3-year-old daughter and another dear friend) by her abusive ex. You can read Emily’s story here.

We would be honored if you shared our videos to help spread the message that domestic violence can happen to anyone. We want to remind women of the importance of moving slowly in a relationship to help prevent domestic violence. If domestic violence is happening to you or someone you know, please reach out to trusted family or friends and utilize the domestic violence hotlines (National Domestic Violence Hotline 1-800-799-7233; The Abbie Shelter 1-406-752-7273).

If you feel called to donate today, please visit https://www.abbieshelter.org/donate to find about how your tax-deductible donation can help provide essential support and resources to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Thank you for your support.
