We talk about how AERIAL FITNESS EMPOWERS WOMEN, but recently I started asking myself: what does that actually mean? I wanted to get CRYSTAL CLEAR on the answer, so I sat and pondered. Obviously aerial fitness can help improve fitness and health. But more than that, aerial fitness is empowering because:
1) OF THE COMMUNITY. Our community at the studio CHALLENGES, ENCOURAGES, AND DREAMS WITH EACH OTHER like no other!
2) It gives people A SAFE ENVIRONMENT to try, make mistakes, learn, and try again. These lessons translate directly to life!
3) It KEEPS ME HUMBLE (yes, some of my students can do things I STILL can’t do), while LIFTING ME UP at the same time (because who cares about what we can’t do, because we are focused on what we CAN DO!).
I love that those things are just intrinsic to aerial fitness! And because I know that ALL WOMEN want to better empower the other women in their lives, I felt we should flip the question:
WHAT CAN WE EACH DO TO BETTER EMPOWER OUR SISTERS, OUR MOTHER, OUR DAUGHTERS, OUR FRIENDS? Tell them you appreciate them! Give them encouragement when they are learning! Challenge and dream with them! Remind them that they are strong; they are beautiful!
And this last one is key: MAKE SURE YOU DO THAT FOR YOURSELF AS WELL - Trust that you are strong, you are beautiful, you are enough! NOW LET’S GO SPREAD EMPOWERMENT LIKE WILDFIRE FRIENDS! You can start with attending a aerial class if you haven’t yet…he he! XOXO, Mindy
